Truth and reconciliation...
Cultural genocide through colonial residential schools has affected generations of Indigenous people so profoundly. Lived experiences steeped in intergenerational trauma have created barriers that include cultural displacement and financial hardships.
As we all learn more of our accurate history, we are aware that we all play a part in the importance of decolonizing our environments. We all have a responsibility to work towards just and equitable actions towards cultural, psychological, and economic freedom for Indigenous people. We as a college are committed to provide empowerment, mindfulness and the ability to experience the healing power of support and education.
We realize the infinite power in a dream.
You may ask yourself: What would life be like if I had the freedom to soar into my creativity with true support and celebration?
Walk through our doors and you will receive a world class education that has no bounds, and that knows no boundaries. It is our hope and belief that you will discover friends and mentors within our walls and that these rich connections will endure a lifetime.
An inspiring and diverse creative learning environment with you in mind curated with flexible learning styles.
On September 30, 2022 Truth and Reconciliation day and Orange Shirt Day*, with the spirit of our namesake - Blanche Brillon Macdonald who was a proud Métis woman and life-long champion of Indigenous Peoples rights, we proudly announce the Blanche Macdonald Indigenous Scholarship.
We are strong, we are brave and we heal together.
* The “orange shirt” in Orange Shirt Day refers to the new shirt that Phyllis Webstad was given to her by her grandmother for her first day of school at St. Joseph's Mission residential school near Williams Lake, BC. When Phyllis got to school, they took away her clothes, including her new shirt. It was never returned. Phyllis was able to go home and live to share her story, but devastating numbers of children were not.
