Selecting the Global Fashion Marketing program at the #1 Fashion Marketing School Blanche Macdonald was an easy choice for Max Anderson:
“As someone who knew they wanted to work in fashion but didn’t really know where to start, the Fashion Marketing program at Blanche set a solid foundation for my journey into the Fashion Marketing industry.”
Gaining greater insight into the culture and history of fashion marketing was an eye-opening experience for Max, exposing him to important contexts that will serve him well in his fashion career.

Since graduating from the Global Fashion Marketing program in 2021, Max has found his inspiration and focus in the world of digital design. In particular, reimagining garments and products in a digital environment using 3D software has captured his imagination:
“Studying at Blanche Macdonald helped instill a creative tenacity in me, which ultimately emboldened me to seriously pursue a career in fashion.”
Max started his business, Chōme, in 2021 while still a student in the Fashion Marketing program at Blanche. At that time, Chome was primarily just a creative outlet for him to reimagine some of his favourite fashion week presentations while also practising his Photoshop and (very basic) 3D design skills.
However, one night as Max toiled away at his computer into the early hours, he was struck by a profound realization: “I was working for fun. Although my skills weren’t anywhere near a professional level, for the first time ever I had a clear vision of what I wanted to do with my life.”

From then on, Max took an obsessive approach to developing his portfolio and skillset. He knew where he wanted to be, and he figured out exactly what he had to do to get there. For the next two years, his evenings and weekends were consumed by his work – chaotically balancing a full-time job in fashion wholesale with his determination to forge his own path. Peeling through YouTube tutorials and online documentation, he taught himself how to use a number of essential 3D tools, including Blender, Cinema4D, and CLO3D.
“Studying at Blanche Macdonald helped instill a creative tenacity in me, which ultimately emboldened me to seriously pursue a career in fashion.”
Through his work, Max tried to bring products and garments to life in impossible scenarios that accurately depicted the designer’s creative vision. The intersection between a garment and its environment had always been magical to him, and 3D technology allowed them to explore that relationship in new and exciting ways.

It wasn’t until 2022 that Max finally started to make money from his work. And before long, evenings and weekends weren’t cutting it anymore. The past year had been a whirlwind of activity, and he felt beyond blessed to have had the opportunity to collaborate with some of his favourite designers, creatives, and artists on projects that truly inspired him.
Although he knows there is still a lot of hard work ahead of him, Max feels like he has made tremendous progress in the time since and remains as determined as ever to see this journey through.
