Esthetics Grad Cierra Evans Masters the Glow

Meet Cierra Evans, the owner of CICI Esthetics and a graduate of Blanche Macdonald’s Medical Esthetics Program. We caught up with Cierra to hear about her exciting journey to entrepreneurship. From mastering massage and facials to founding her successful venture, CICI Esthetics, Cierra shares the inside scoop on her Blanche Macdonald experience and what keeps her glowing in the esthetics world.

“Blanche was a catapult into a rainbow of skills that I use today. Going to BMC and growing up in a hard-working home has inspired me on this path. BMC really sets you up for success with knowledge and foundations of the esthetics industry.”

We love the look and feel of CICI Esthetics, online and in-person! How did you arrive at this look and brand for yourself?

I really wanted CICI Esthetics to be a welcoming environment. I wanted my space to feel relaxing but with a twist of my style. I love pampering clients and seeing them regain their confidence in their skin. It’s common for people to feel insecure when addressing a skin concern, and I’m passionate about helping them feel good about themselves in this area. So, something that was important to me was to make sure clients always know they are safe and in good hands with proper knowledge and foundational skin theory. This is something BMC teaches you.

Why did you decide to become a medical esthetician?

I went into medical aesthetics because I struggled with severe acne. I found combining chemical peels and lasers was extremely beneficial for reducing inflammation. In addition to that, laser and chemical peels are great at successfully treating other skin concerns!

What specific skills or techniques did you find most valuable from your time in our Medical Esthetics program?

I found the massage and facials most valuable to me because I always knew I wanted to combine relaxation and medical aesthetic treatments together. Clients love the feeling of being pampered but having an effective treatment!

How did the Medical Esthetics program influence your approach to skincare and your business?

The depth of knowledge we learn about skin and all the ins and outs of skin health has been invaluable. Understanding various skin types, ingredients, and treatment techniques not only enhances my knowledge but also allows me to address the root cause of skin concerns effectively, leading to increased sales in the treatment room.

“I love having the ability to be creative and incorporate my passions into my business. I've been fortunate enough to see first-hand how investing in yourself is an ongoing reward.”

Did you have any favourite classes or instructors?

Linda was my instructor and she was phenomenal! Having an instructor who has worked in a prestigious spa, she was able to share great advice with students. Linda is passionate about the esthetics industry and it shows through her charismatic training.

What inspired you to venture into entrepreneurship?

I love having the ability to be creative and incorporate my passions into my business. I’ve been fortunate enough to have grown up in a hard-working family and have the privilege to see first-hand how investing in yourself is an ongoing reward. Both my parents took the entrepreneurial path and grew successful businesses.

How did BMC’s Global Esthetics Program empower you?

Going to BMC and growing up in a hard-working home has inspired me on this path. BMC really sets you up for success with knowledge and foundations of the esthetics industry. The benefits of being self-employed are endless. It’s not an easy road, but it’s rewarding and I wouldn’t trade all the highs and lows.

“Purchasing my first laser device at 21 was a huge pinch-me moment. That led to purchasing Hydrafacial and The SkinPen. Carrying the most prestigious machines is something I dreamed of, now it's my reality.”

Your journey from our program to entrepreneurship is so inspiring! Could you share some key milestones or achievements that you’re particularly proud of?

Oh my gosh, this is making me tear up! I think most importantly I believed in myself and knew how intense my passion is for the skin industry and my personal struggle with acne. Purchasing my first laser device at 21 was a huge pinch-me moment. Extremely scary as it was a massive investment. I still remember the day the device arrived and I was like a kid on Christmas morning. That led to purchasing Hydrafacial and The SkinPen. Carrying the most prestigious machines is something I dreamed of, now it’s my reality. I have treated the most difficult skin conditions and given clients their confidence back. Sharing the importance of proper skincare and treatments can skyrocket results for life.

Can you tell us about the laser devices you’ve invested in?

I have the Candela GentleMax Pro, it’s a highly effective laser that I treat my clients with. The GentleMax Pro can reduce hair growth, target fine lines and wrinkles, treat acne, remove unwanted pigment and remove spider veins, safely and effectively. One of the skincare lines I carry, iS Clinical, is tried and true to me as it was the first medical-grade skincare line I started using that made great improvement in my skin and has helped my clients achieve their skin goals. I also carry Image Skincare, their chemical peels are top-tier. Truly one of a kind! Lastly, I carry the Colorescience line because they’re no better combination than SPF and makeup!

You have successfully navigated the transition from student to business owner. What advice would you give to current esthetics students who aspire to a similar path?

Have a goal, find something you are truly passionate about and get really good at that skill. I was relentless in growing my business, I worked as much as I could, asked questions and worked really hard. Always remember, if you never ask, you’ll never know. I searched for the best in my line of work and asked questions. Blanche was a catapult into a rainbow of skills that I use today. Most importantly, believe you are capable of anything you dedicate your time to.

What’s next for CICI Esthetics?

I want to continue educating clients and helping them reach their skin goals! Giving clients their confidence back is so rewarding.
