Blanche Macdonald Graphic Design Director and Art + Technology instructor Morgan Mallett comes from a graphic design and advertising background, and has worked for agencies, in-house, and as an independent since 2005. She founded her interdisciplinary studio—Design + Conquer—in 2009. Best described as a breakaway design faction, Design + Conquer specializes in innovative accessory and garment design.
Morgan’s work has been carried by Canada’s largest department store (Simons), galleries such as The Polygon Gallery, the Musée d’Art Contemporain, and has been exhibited around the world. Her work has been seen in Harper’s Bazaar, ELLE, Refinery29, and she is a recent recipient of the Carter Wosk Award for Applied Art and Design in Applied Art + Design.
Morgan strives to inspire her students to blur the boundaries between different disciplines, and to think critically about how things communicate. Semiotics, technical understanding, and fun are at the heart of her teaching ethos.
