With the support of an amazing career department, I spent time interning in different fashion-focused roles, working on set, and networking with all sorts of people in the industry.
My favourite part of Blanche Macdonald is the uplifting, genuine, motivating team of people who are there to catapult you into the dynamic industry of fashion. You gain access to people and opportunities that allow you to find your creative edge, your strengths, your weaknesses, and where you want to work.
After graduating from the Global Fashion Marketing program, I felt ready and eager to begin working and applying everything I had learnt over the past 12 months. I moved home to Ottawa, ON, and began working for a local women’s contemporary boutique, viens avec moi, as the Store Manager and Assistant Buyer. I spent a little over a year styling clients, managing a store and team, and selecting pieces season to season that would maximize sales and attract our target customer.
You gain access to people and opportunities that allow you to find your creative edge, your strengths and your weaknesses.
In November of 2022, I began a very exciting new chapter in my fashion career and started at the ALDO Group as an Associate Buyer with the Accessories team for North America. At ALDO, I get to work hands-on with product, execute buying exercises in order to meet sales budgets, sustain our customer, and stay on trend with the rest of the fashion industry.
Every day at ALDO, I find myself completing tasks, or involved in conversations that lead me back to things I learnt at Blanche. I am constantly reminded of the way my studies at Blanche set me up for success as I work through my first few years in this crazy, fast paced, forever changing industry called fashion.
